
The Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Center in Jamestown, N.Y., is a museum dedicated to the lives and careers of the actors best known for their work on the hit television show “I Love Lucy.”
Just minutes away from Lucy’s childhood home, the center offers several tours dedicated to the this real life and on-screen couple. Tours include visits to:
Desilu Playhouse: Dedicated to and named after the Hollywood studio where the “I Love Lucy” TV series was filmed, the Desilu Playhouse features re-creations of Lucy and Ricky Ricardo’s New York City apartment, a screening area and several showcases filled with vintage memorabilia and costumes worn on the show.
The Lucy-Desi Museum: An exciting place for Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz fans, the Lucy-Desi Museum contains costumes, awards, photographs, memorabilia from their estates, audio clips from Desi’s autobiography and stories from Lucy’s childhood friends, a radio playing clips from Lucy’s 1940’s radio series “My Favorite Husband,” and a few of Desi’s famous songs. The museum also features a screening area showing videos, interviews with some of Lucy’s childhood friends, Lucy and Desi’s family scrapbooks and computer stations with “I Love Lucy” trivia and puzzles.
The Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Center Gift Shop: Filled with hundreds of licensed “I Love Lucy” items, visitors have the chance to purchase anything and everything related to the hit show and its actors. All proceeds support the center.
End the day in the center’s "Tropicana Room," a re-creation of Ricky Ricardo’s famous nightclub from “I Love Lucy,” where visitors can enjoy a meal, while watching an episode from the Iconic TV show.
